Myla Beach Villa – A Story of Elegance and Tranquility

Myla Beach Villa is more than just a luxury villa in Galle, Sri Lanka; it is the fruition of our family’s long-standing dream and a passionately conceived sanctuary intended to serve as a space to enhance the well-being of our guests.

From the moment we set eyes on the oceanfront coconut grove and wide expanse of beach that Myla Beach Villa now majestically stands upon, we had a very clear vision to create a home that would harness the healing energy of the elements surrounding this land: a vision built on the captivating ocean views, golden shores, gentle sea breeze and echo of the rolling waves.

Myla Beach Villa was conceived by the internationally renowned design firm, The Cinnamon Room, based in Singapore, working in conjunction with Sri Lanka’s leading architects, PWA, and our villa was finally completed in November 2023 following a decade-long journey. It has been a labour of love, encompassing many of the challenges that we have faced along the way, not least building through the pandemic.

With discerning travelers, comfortable family holidays and well-being focused groups in mind, our villa concept blends Sri Lankan charm, grace and elegance with modern luxury, presenting a holistic, restorative tropical beach haven for guests to experience the very best of the Sri Lankan southern coast .

As a family, we have strong heritage and roots with Sri Lanka, having lived in and visited many parts of the island. This inspired us to create our very own unique and authentic villa experience, capturing the best of the Sri Lankan hospitality that we have enjoyed (Sri Lankan smiles, cuisine, architecture and design) whilst adding other bespoke features that we felt would work well for our guests, such as adjoining rooms for families, ocean views for all living spaces and bedrooms, a separate private work study and a healthy, delicious menu with in house chef.

With roots in Sri Lanka’s rich design and architectural heritage, our villa is crafted with locally sourced materials, bespoke furnishings, and an artistic touch that reflects the cultural beauty of the island. From locally sourced original mahogany and teak wood furniture, to restored antique gems and handmade tiling, the villa offers a unique fusion aesthetic of the majestic old with the contemporary chic to provide a unique sense of space and harmony.
